Apply Leirvik has been awarded a contract from the Wellhead Platform Alliance (Aker BP, Aker Solutions, Kværner and ABB) for the delivery of an emergency shelter and helicopter deck on the new Valhall Flank West platform.
The emergency shelter is a two-floor module with a total area of 154 m2, which includes change rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, meeting rooms, offices and beds. The Valhall Flank West platform is normally unmanned, but will provide emergency shelter for up to 15 persons, if needed. The helicopter deck is a standard safe deck, in accordance to Norwegian requirements.
Both the emergency shelter and the helicopter deck will be built in aluminium by Apply Leirvik at Stord. The delivery dates are set to be 31.08.2018 and 31.10.2018. The shelter and the helicopter deck will be transported to Kværner Verdal for assembly on the top-side.
“The contract will employ approximately 30 FTE’s and fits very well into our two ongoing projects, Johan Sverdrup and Peregrino II. This is an important contract related to our commitment towards small and medium modules, and the award shows that our focus on continuous development of the supplier chain makes us competitive in a challenging market. We are honoured by the award, and look forward to start the work immediately,” says Apply Leirvik CEO, Helge Gjøsæter.
