Solveig Gas Norway has signed an agreement to acquire a 10% working interest in the Duva field from Pandion Energy.
The Duva oil and gas field, located in the northern North Sea, was discovered in 2016. The field contains 68% gas (including NGL) and 32% oil. With estimated recoverable reserves of 88 million boe, the field is expected to produce around 30,000 boe per day at peak. The Plan for Development and Operation (PDO) of the Duva field was approved by the authorities earlier this year, less than three years after discovery. The field will be developed as a subsea tie-back to the nearby Gjøa platform, with first production expected in early 2021. Neptune Energy is the operator of Duva, as well as the host platform.
The Gjøa platform is supplied by hydropower from shore, and thus has a carbon footprint of only 1.1 kg CO2 per boe produced. This compares to a global average of about 18 kg.
