Total and Samsung Heavy Industries awarded the deoxygenation system contract for the world’s largest Floating Production Storage Offloading (FPSO) to Minox Technology. The FPSO is to be operated by Total at the Egina oil field, in the Gulf of Guinea, offshore Nigeria. A Letter of Award (LOA) was signed on July 17th with an estimated contract value NOK 150 to 180 million.
Minox Technology will by early 2016 deliver two compact deaeration (oxygen removal) units, each with a capacity to process 251,000 barrels of water per day down to 20 ppb of oxygen content without the use of chemicals making this a unique and green technology.
