Apply Leirvik today announced the award of an EPC contract from Kvaerner Stord for delivery of a Living Quarter and Helideck to the Lundins new Edvard Grieg Platform.
The contract includes delivery of a new 7 floor Living Quarters Module with an area of 2600 m2 and a capacity of 100 single cabins, administration centre, central control room and all other facilities required for operation of an offshore hotel.
The Living Quarters and Helideck will be constructed in aluminium. Low weight, minimum maintenance in operation and environmental friendliness were the most important criteria when Lundin made their decision to use aluminium.
Fabrication of aluminium will start in early 2013. The module shall be delivered in July 2014. Hook up of the LQ module to the deck of the Edvard Grieg platform shall take place at Kværner Stord.
