HitecVision is pleased to announce the acquisition of parts of Scana Offshore from Scana Industrier ASA and the establishment of Aquamarine Subsea. The plan is to develop Aquamarine into a leading supplier of services and solutions to riser owners in the drilling, work-over and production market segments. The Scana Offshore acquisition is the first acquisition in this game plan.
Scana Offshore comprises three companies in OSE listed Scana Industrier ASA. Two of the companies are located in Norway and one in Houston. Each company has its respective specialist focus and an international footprint, having operated independently of one another historically:
- Scana Offshore Technology (SOT) is located in the Stavanger region and conducts maintenance, repair and re-certification of drilling and subsea equipment.
- Scana Offshore Vestby (SOV) is located in the Oslo region and holds expertise on thermal coating of critical components for drilling and subsea equipment.
- Scana Offshore Services (SOS) is located in Houston and delivers customized solutions for rig and platform operations. The company also partially owns Stingray Offshore Solutions which designs and engineers the products produced by SOS.
With history from the early days of Norwegian oil and gas industry, Scana Offshore is well known for its deep technical competence and strong relationships with blue-chip clients. The Scana companies will form a strong foundation for the Aquamarine game plan, providing hubs for both the North Sea and Gulf of Mexico.
