Grenland Group has been awarded a contract from Statoil for modification of the Water Injection Plant on the Gullfaks B platform. The water Injection plant is pumping sea water into the oil reservoir, for maintenance of the well pressure and production capacity.
Gullfaks B is the central unit on the Gullfaks Field and delivers oil and gas to Gullfaks A and Gullfaks C, for further delivery of oil to shuttle tankers and gas through pipeline to the plant at Kårstø.
“This contract confirms that our dedicated focus on the modification market is giving the expected results and it confirms our position as a major EPCI contactor in Norway. We are very pleased that Statoil has chosen Grenland Group for this important project” says Hallgeir Skogen, CEO Grenland Group.
The contract value is approximately NOK 400 mill. and the work will start immediately. Contract completion is planned in middle of June 2012. Together with other large contracts recently awarded to Grenland Group, this will give the company a good base load and a sound platform for further growth within the business stream Offshore Partner.
