Global Maritime acquires design business for mobile offshore units

Global Maritime is pleased to announce the acquisition of a design business for mobile offshore units from GL Noble Denton. The contract was signed on 7th June 2013 and represents a strategic expansion of Global Maritime’s core areas of expertise within vessel and rig design. The private equity investor HitecVision completed a growth capital investment in Global Maritime in June 2012 and the acquisition of the design business (formerly Brevik Engineering) from GL Noble Denton is in line with the overall strategy of continuing Global Maritime’s strong organic growth record combined with acquisition of complementary and value adding companies.

The acquisition represents a great opportunity for Global Maritime to build on the strong position of GL Noble Denton’s Brevik-based mobile offshore unit design business and at the same time strengthen Global Maritime’s existing offering. We are very excited about taking a business like this on board. It fits very well in with our operation and with our plans for further growth, says CEO of Global Maritime Group, Jan Vatsvåg.
