Jon Vatnaland

Jon Vatnaland joined HitecVision in 2020, and has played a key role in deal origination within the New Energy Program and serves as lead partner of these portfolio companies. He has extensive knowledge of and experience with the utilities and power generation sector in Norway and Europe. He joined HitecVision from the role as Executive Vice President at Statkraft, the largest generator of renewable power in Europe. During more than 11 years at Statkraft, Jon was involved in both strategic and business-related transformations as well as M&A in the power generation sector and was instrumental in building up Statkraft's UK business. Prior to Statkraft, Jon worked as a consultant at McKinsey.

Jon holds a PhD in social studies from the University of Oslo and has been a research fellow there and a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley.
